Taking the spotlight away from the flurry of florals, leopard, cheetah and snake prints have been creeping there way onto the major runways, streets and onto the worlds most iconic women.
As you may know, I love a model-off-duty style slip dress and always have. it’s my favourite type of dress to wear as it makes me feel feminine and a little rock-chic. It looks great and can be worn in so many situations - at the office with a blazer, alone, to cocktails, on vacation or in the city.
On March 6, 1991, Gianni Versace forever changed the fashion world after showing his Fall Winter collection, appropriately dubbed “The Freedom Collection”. He is often credited with creating the ‘supermodel' after causing a global sensation when he sent sent four models, Cindy (Crawford), Linda (Evangelista), Christy (Turlington) and Naomi (Campbell), down the runway miming to George Michael’s song Freedom.

The beauty of a white shirt is that is can be worn over or under, tucked or untucked. Wrap it, tie it, play with it, but most importantly, just have fun with it. There is nothing sexier than a woman in a white shirt.

In my journey through fashion, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the world’s most beautiful women. Many of my dear friends are “supermodels”, women who represent an ideal standard of beauty. But these women are also transcendent because they encompass an internal beauty that truly make them exceptional.
My style can best be described as: a combination of rock-chic elegance and boho-luxe with a touch of haute-hippy
A Little Joe Woman always: has impeccable manners, is always excited to travel, loves and appreciates life
It was the haircut that sent shock waves through the fashion world. In 1988, Linda Evangelista’s long brunette locks were cut into a boyish crop by hairdresser Julien d’Y’s. Though Linda’s initial reaction was one of shock and tears, the haircut would be transformative to her career and catapult her into the modeling stratosphere.
As the Fourth of July holiday is being celebrated in America, I thought it appropriate to dedicate a post to an American icon. And when I think about a designer that best represents American heritage and values, none other is more emblematic than Ralph Lauren.
I’m a print girl. In fact, I’ve always been drawn to prints and patterns that create a bold fashion statement. Prints are timeless, add edge to a wardrobe, and appeal to a diverse age group (great style knows no age after all). While some people love print, others won't go near it, but I’ve had an affinity towards patterns and they have been a part of my personal fashion history.
It all starts with the Hamptons. Twelve years ago, I launched Little Joe Woman in New York's seaside villages known as the Hamptons. Our first collection consisted solely of a few key pieces--six slips and camisoles-- but now has grown to a global brand that includes dresses, tops, handbags and accessories, and yes even a Hamptons tote.
I was first discovered working at a McDonald's when I was 15 years old. Just kidding, you tend to hear stories about how girls were discovered working in a fast food restaurant or at an airport but my story isn’t as serendipitous.
I’ve always been a music girl. Whether it was a music video for Duran Duran, dinner and dancing with rock stars after a Versace show, or being moved by music as I walked down a runway when I was a model (Marc Jacobs’ infamous grunge collection for Perry Ellis was a memorable one--more on that in an upcoming blog post), music has always been a part of my life. I met my husband and Little Joe Woman co founder Joe Coffey in a nightclub, so it's safe to say that music has been an integral part of my life.
I recently returned from a trip to London where one of the highlights was catching up with my bestie Yasmin Le Bon (aka Yassy). We met for a long lunch with our husbands, and catching up with Yassy always brings back memories of us as young girls just starting out in the modeling industry. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her as she resides in London and I’m now in Bali. Yet despite time and distance, Yassy and I can always pick up where we left off much like the first time we met. She’s been my “person” for the past thirty years.
I’m taking you on a trip back to the 80s and 90s, before Instagram, before social media, before cell phones! There were no Kardashians, the red carpet wasn’t the fashion show it is today, and MTV was new (and played videos, usually my friends Duran Duran). The only information you could access about fashion was through the fashion bibles of the time: British, Italian and U.S. Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
I’m still in London celebrating with family for my father’s birthday and seeing my besties. Since we're in Europe, it only makes sense to make a quick stop in beautiful Paris, this time to celebrate Valentine's Day with my other bestie, Joe. So what to wear on one of the most romantic days of the year in one of the most romantic and fashionable cities in the world is on my mind..
Let’s talk about what you will wear on Valentine’s Day this year. No matter what you are doing, it's a great opportunity to show yourself some love. Your outfit should reflect who you are and how you feel about yourself.

exdreamist - Maybe it’s how the soft, light fabric feels against your skin, or the consciousness of wearing a piece of clothing in public that so closely resembles an intimate nighty or lingerie.
We go to extreme lengths these days to feel sexy – spending hundreds on dresses that accentuate curves, lengthen our limbs and barely cover our bodies.
Where to shop for clothes: I like Sabia for beautiful, simple beach clothing and accessories. We’ve just opened a Little Joe Woman by Gail Elliott boutique on Jl. The Resort collection is full of exquisite, easy to wear pieces that have a distinct undone sensuality and charm.
At the end of last month, my husband Joe Coffey (CEO of Little Joe Woman by Gail Elliott) and I, set off for London for our good friend Yasmin Le Bon's surprise 50th Birthday party. The celebration was hosted by Yasmin’s husband Simon Le Bon and members of Duran Duran at One Lombard Street in London’s EC1. The evening was a complete surprise to Yasmin, she thought she and Simon were going for dinner to celebrate his birthday which was two days later.
