THESTYLEINC x GAIL ELLIOTT INTERVIEW
Meet Gail Elliott - the divine model who rose to fame in the 80's.
Hot in demand she has collaborated with some of our favourite names in fashion including Mario Testino, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Steven Meisel and Cindy Crawford, who also happened to be one of her bridesmaids (talk about wedding party perfection!).
The striking Elliott has now turned her attention to designer threads and heads up contemporary cool label Little Joe Woman by Gail Elliott.
We all know supermodels have the best tips when it comes to beauty, so we caught up with Elliott to find our her secrets.
I would describe my approach to beauty as:
I don't ever wear foundation all over my face, I find the look too heavy so just use a concealer to cover any pink areas under my nose and on my chin. I don't use under-eye concealer unless I'm on a photo shoot as it's too heavy - I kind of like that "Italian Vogue" slightly dark, interesting, under the eye look! I like to frame the eye and this is very easily done with a flat brown Mac eyeshadow applied with a brush to shape the outer corners of the eyebrow. I use the same shade smudged under the eye, a slick of black Maybelline mascara (it's the best!).
For evening I use:
Before bed I remove my eye make up with either L'Oreal or Vichy eye make up remover - they're both light, fresh and non oily. Because I don't use foundation I cleanse with a toner and moisturise with Ultraceuticals I also spray lavender oil on my pillow or around my seat on the aeroplane to help me relax and have a good nights sleep.
My favourite fragrance:
Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanilla for evening.
I don't have a beauty icon but have a few beauty / style icons who are:
* Kate Moss
* Carine Roitfeld (ex French Vogue Fashion Editor)
* Christy Turlington ( her face is incredible)
* Cindy Crawford ( another incredible face)
* Yasmin LeBon - stylish & beautiful.
* Karin Upton-Baker - Hermes Australia - so chic.
* Heidi Middleton (unbelievably stylish & chic)
One beauty rule that I always follow:
WATER!!! Very cliche but true - water plumps the skin and makes you look and feel fresh & hydrated!
