Max Made Gets Up And Personal With Gail Elliott
Super Model & Fashion Designer Gail Elliott talks beauty, her life and career as one of the worlds top Super Models and how she manages to look forever-young.
There is something truly mesmerising about Elliott as she poses effortlessly in front of the camera. Her moves, so subtle as she changes the angle of her face or the expression in her gaze. As the frames roll into the computer, you can see why she was one of the world’s most in demand models.
Today I have the utmost privilege of shooting one of my favourite Super Models and beauty icon for an exclusive Maxmade feature! As the now designer of fashion house Little Joe sits in my makeup chair, she begins to tell me tales of her adventures as a young woman. Travelling the world from city to city, walking for designers such as Dior, Versace and Chanel. The experiences of working with photographers like Helmet Newtown & Steven Miesel for the covers of the worlds top fashion magazines… and this is, all before she even touches on the invaluable beauty secrets collected from all corners of the world.
Hair Notes; To add volume spray EVO Root Canal Base Support Spray to the roots and mid-lengths before blow-drying though. To build texture and a lived-in feel to hair, lightly spray the mid-lenths and ends with EVO’s Mister Fantastic before and after lightly tonging the hair with a large tong. Tip; If hair struggles with volume or holding a wave, lightly dust roots with EVO’S Haze Styling Powder before shaking the excess though to the ends! You will not be disappointed! Gail wears White Shirt & Black Bra from Little Joe
Opening Image; I applied Becca Cosmetic’s Creme Eye Colour in Antique Gold to Gail’s eyes to get this sexy, dewy look. To add a little glamour to Gail’s eyes I applied Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Highlighting & contouring is a one-stop shop with Charlotte Tilbury’s Fimstar Bronze & Glow. To enhanced bronzed skin and make lips look larger than life, apply Tom Ford’s Lipstick Colour in Sable Smoke to the lips using your finger tips. Gail wears T-shirt by Jac + Jack.
Beauty Notes; To stop your complexion from looking lifeless or your eyes from looking dull when doing a smokey eye, add a windswept flush of colour along the cheekbones. Tip; To brighten dark circles under the eyes apply blush high on the apples of the cheeks, just under the outer corner of the eye to brighten and lift the area. I use Estee Lauder’s ‘New’ Illuminating Powder Blush in Tease to get this beautiful, radiant wash of colour! Gail wears Leather jacket by Strateas Carlucci.
Beauty Notes; To achieve this Bridgette Bardot inspired eye I smudged Chanel’s Precision Eye Definer in Noir through the inner rim and lash line of the eye. Tip; To soften the pencil’s edge and get a more smokey look, blend the pencil out using the rubber tip on the end of the pencil. Gail wears Black Dress by Gary Bigeni
To enhance the natural frame work of the face and open up the eye area, I used Modelco’s Eyebrow Designer Brow Kit to sculpt, shape and define Gail’s brows. Note; Perfecting of the brows is a must when finishing any makeup! Gail wears Lace top by Zimmermann.
